Day 15 Dingboche Acclimatization Hike

Day 15 of our attempt to hike the EBC. Apologies I didn’t post yesterday. I was feeling quite ill in the evening which I will tell you about. Thankyou so much for all the love and support it has been overwhelming. So yesterday started ok. I felt a bit tired but otherwise willing to do the acclimatization hike. So we slept in a little and the set off to hike as far and as high as possible. Unfortunately this didn’t end up being so far, at about 4700 metres both mum and I developed mild headaches. Sonam had us go a little further to make sure we reached the height of our next stop and then let us come down. We only did 2.5km in three hours. We could have gone further but we were feeling a little gun shy. We then explored the town a little bit before returning to the tea house. I took a short nap then sat in the sun for a bit. At this point all my symptoms were gone. Unfortunately later on in the evening I started feeling a bit off. I couldn’t put my finger on it but I was freezing! We had a late dinner, SATS were a bit low sitting at just above 80. Then I went straight to bed in all my clothes because I just felt rotten. I ended up with a bad fever in the night and it kept me up all night trying to cool myself down and medicate it down. So it wasn’t a very good nights sleep so we’ll see what tomorrow brings. #ebc #sick #trekking
