Day 5 of our journey to Nepal to hike the EBC. Today we are on our way to Nepal. We slept in a bit this morning so had to rush pack up the last of our stuff and checkout. We then headed over to our favourite pub for our last possibly familiar meal. Then it was time to catch the train up to Heathrow. Ended up there a bit early but we wanted to check out our airline Indigo as we’d never heard of them before. All checked in without a hitch and we had a great first leg down to Delhi. Really nice plane, only downside was a cockroach roaming around the cabin keeping us on our toes. Things took a turn in Delhi as quite a few of us had had our flights moved a few hours. Security was confusing and there was no real sign with the rules. One said take off my shoes so I did but then I was told they don’t want my shoes they want every cable out of my bag which took some time. Eventually made it through and we wandered the airport waiting for the next stage. Boarded the flight, wasn’t so keen on this one as it was quite bumpy and the pilot was throwing it around like a flying go cart. Landed at Katmandu and the last hurdle was trying to get the visa which required filling out quite a long online form on a kiosk. Mine went through ok even though we didn’t have the hotel name. Mums was trickier as her OTP wouldn’t come through to pay for it, also her phone was dying so we were running out of time. Eventually managed and we were the last to leave. Our luggage had already been thrown off the carousel. Went out to meet one of our guides who welcomed us and took us to the hotel. It’s a lovely hotel down very narrow streets. Our driver was quite phenomenal not to scratch his vehicle. All in all 19 hours of travelling today and the adventure finally begins! #ebc #katmandu #delhi #travel #amazing
